Vintage full upright dark walnut finish piano (63" wide x 54" high x 26" deep) that was left in the house we bought 6 years ago. My parents need me to take my childhood piano from their home, so this one has to go. It's an Emerson (SN: 114467), manufactured in "Boston U.S.A", at least 60 years old, ivory keys, etc. I have had my piano tuner as well as my church organist look it over. The sound board is in good condition, but it needs significant tuning work and the top B flat hammer is missing. The exterior has significant wear, but all factors considered it is a great instrument and plays well. Bench (also a bit worn) is included. This piano belongs to a friend, I am trying to help her donate it. She has been storing the piano for 7 years,lives in the city and has no room for it,

The piano needs:

"Full belly restoration", soundboard, new pins and strings, bridge restoration The mechanism is all original parts, the overhaul of the mechanism  is called "regulation", and it needs body work, it has issues with the veneer and finishing.

IT is still playable more or less but it needs a lot of work.

It would 11- to $14,000 to bring total showroom condition. You can spend between $500 to $1,000 to get it in descent playing condition

There are cracks in the legs and Bench.

Value would be somewhere around $30,000 in total if it were completely restored.

It says on piano: strauch bros. New york. Columbian exposition 1893... In commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the landing of christopher columbus.

 Then there's a # that is like carved into the wood under the piano that says 309000. I really don't think this is a serial #.
